Greater than 100million Americans deal with chronic or persistent pain on a daily basis.
This population has contributed to the consumption of roughly 80% of the global opioid supply.
Physical Therapists are in a great position to help change this epidemic. This talk is designed to update attendees on the latest evidence and clinical application of Pain Neuroscience Education. Current, best evidence has shown that Neuroscience educational strategies can not only reduce pain, but also improve rehab outcomes. We will discuss why Pain Neuroscience Education is needed in Physical Therapy, as well as how you can apply this in your clinical
practice tomorrow.

Objectives

1) To introduce the basic concept of pain neuroscience education

2)  To be able to discuss the latest evidence for pain neuroscience education

3)  To be able to apply pain neuroscience education into clinical practice tomorrow using at least one metaphor from this lecture.
